Turning Passion into Purpose. London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting for the post of Clinical Skills and Simulation Technician.
The University is currently looking for an experienced, committed, and enthusiastic Clinical Skills and Simulation Technicians to help provide dedicated, high quality, technical support in the Clinical Skills and Simulation Rooms for the College of Health and Life Sciences.
The clinical skills and simulation rooms are maintained by a dedicated team of technicians who support students and staff in use of specialist equipment and related processes.
As a member of this team, you will present and demonstrate key technologies, facilitate practical sessions, and play a key role in ensuring that the environments and technical equipment run smoothly.
This wide and varied role typically involves the preparation of specialist spaces and equipment for practical classes, providing dedicated technical support for bespoke clinical and simulation systems, playing a key role in supporting less experienced staff and being actively involved in supporting academic colleagues in practical sessions.
We will provide you with opportunities to develop your experience, knowledge and understanding of the wide range of systems, processes, and techniques that are part of working in this environment.
About you
We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:
- A degree or equivalent educational/professional experience in providing technical support in a Clinical Skills and Simulation or Healthcare based discipline.
- Significant experience in the use of specialised equipment related to clinical skills and simulation (e.g., part-task trainers and hi-fidelity mannikins).
- Practical understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act in professional / educational environments.
- Experience explaining technical issues to those less experienced, and be able to provide high quality, customer focused technical support in a Higher Education environment.
- Experience with AR/VR is also highly desirable.
