Today, the University of Glasgow is one of the world's top 100 universities and ranked 12th in the world in the Times Higher Education (THE) World Impact Rankings 2024, demonstrating that we are not only one of the best universities in the United Kingdom, but one of the best universities for the world. Our people have always been at the forefront of innovation, and our past achievements inspire our current world changers.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Technician to join the team on a full-time basis.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Technician to support advanced histopathological workflows. The role requires expertise in microtomy (routine and complex), H&E staining, slide digitisation, construction of tissue microarrays (TMAs), and nucleic acid extraction from FFPE samples (sections or particulate material), followed by accurate DNA quantification.

The successful candidate will play a key role in translational research projects within the Glasgow Tissue Research Facility (GTRF) at the QEUH, taking responsibility for the planning, design, delivery, and safe operation of specialist technical equipment to optimise research output.

Candidates with experience in tissue-based research or clinical pathology are encouraged to apply.

Informal enquiries are encouraged and should be directed to Pamela McCall, Pamela.McCall@glasgow.ac.uk
