About the Position
The ideal candidate will possess a strong record of excellence in teaching, along with a demonstrated history of impactful research supported by extramural funding. We are particularly seeking a visionary scholar who brings innovative and forward-thinking approaches to advancing education, research, and practice in the evolving health landscape. Key responsibilities include delivering high-quality, engaging instruction; mentoring and advising students; conducting influential research with strong potential for external funding; and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration across diverse academic and professional domains.
Position Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a program of scholarly research with potential for extramural funding.
- Disseminate research findings through peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and conferences.
- Foster interdisciplinary collaborations across health, engineering, informatics, and design.
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses aligned with expertise
- Participate in college, university, and professional service activities.
- Engage with community partners to advance the mission of the college.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to enhance educational programs and research initiatives.
- Mentor and advise students in academic and professional development.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate in nursing, public health, or other related field by time of appointment
- Record of scholarly achievement commensurate with rank.
- Strong foundation in human-centered design and human factors in clinical or educational settings.
- Evidence of research in health and wellness
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in academic nursing
- Evidence of team science and translational research
- Currently funded with the potential to transfer funding to UTKCON
- Current licensure in nursing; eligible for licensure in Tennessee
- Experience with instructional media and technology
Rank and Salary:
Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A competitive benefits package is included.
Work Location:
Knoxville, Tennessee. This is not a distance-based position. Faculty are expected to be present on campus.
