General Statement of Responsibilities

Join our growing team of engaged and talented professionals. The Boynton Health Clinic with the University of Minnesota at the Minneapolis College site is seeking an enthusiastic and committed provider to join us as we respond to the growing demand for collegiate recovery on campus. This part-time, 9-month position will be employed by Boynton Health, but working at the satellite clinic at Minneapolis College four days per week (Monday - Thursday) during the academic year, with 12-14 additional days in the summer.

The Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) Coordinator will lead the program by continuing to build a campus-based infrastructure to empower students in recovery by providing support, connecting students with resources, and promoting academic excellence. The coordinator is a Campus Security Authority and is required to report certain crimes they become aware of.

Detailed Job Responsibilities

  1. Coordination of Collegiate Recovery Programs (45% of the time)
    1. Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) at Minneapolis College to support student recovery.
    2. Plan, develop, direct, and manage a program of comprehensive services related to recovery services. Serve as the main point of contact for the CRP program to ensure consistent support.
    3. Coordinate recruitment and retention of CRP members.
    4. Recommend relevant internal and external resources to aid in student retention and completion.
  2. Direct Recovery Services (10% of the time)
    1. Designs, plans, and conducts individual and group recovery sessions to support CRP participants’ level of functioning. This is accomplished by observing, interviewing, discussing students’ challenges, and recommending a recovery plan.
    2. Consults with CRP participants and providers about community follow-up services for students to ensure continued success.
  3. Programming (30% of the time)
    1. Develop and facilitate a regular calendar of programming that includes (4) coin ceremonies each year, a monthly social event, and at least two recovery meetings each week.
    2. Promote CRP to members of the Minneapolis College community and beyond, through weekly tabling at college-wide events, and through outreach at local recovery events.
    3. Manage projects, including projects that involve numerous internal departments or community entities, and assess processes to identify needs for improvements or modifications. Such projects and programming may include monthly or regular workshops, large-scale events, and developing relationships with partner colleges, universities, and other institutions.
  4. CRP Support (10% of the time)
    1. Work closely with CRP staff (ie. Recovery Navigator, work study employees, and Student Health Clinic LADC) and delegate tasks as needed.
    2. Assist in professional development of the Recovery Navigator and work study employees through functional supervision, mentorship, and coaching.
    3. Collaborate with CRP staff and colleagues in the Student Health Clinic and Student Life in planning and executing programming, recruitment and retention of members.
  5. Retain administrative records and data for the program, maintaining participant records (5% of the time)
    1. Assign record-keeping functions to staff members. Supervise staff tracking to ensure proper data collection on each participant.
    2. Ensure that intake and activity forms are entered into the computerized database. Review participant files to ensure proper data collection.
    3. Establish, initiate, and coordinate follow-up activities with each CRP member.
    4. Design administrative files to include records of expenditures, budget reports, purchase records, project evaluation, and performance reports.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned (examples below)
    1. Actively participate in required and optional safety training and drills required by Boynton Health and Minneapolis College.
    2. Proactively address the safety of all by raising safety concerns immediately to your supervisor or site contact.
    3. Report all injuries and incidents before the end of the day during which the incident occurs.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS plus at least two years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal 6 years.
  • Experience in planning, conducting, and evaluating educational workshops and training sessions.
  • Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem-solving, collaboration, and quality improvement.
  • Computer application skills sufficient to prepare reports, correspondence, conduct program evaluations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting a culture that respects and advances diversity and inclusion.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree and/or Peer Recovery Specialist
  • Approved supervisor by the Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy
  • LICSW or LPCC license to practice in Minnesota is preferred
  • LADC license to practice in Minnesota
  • Knowledge of Student Affairs and retention issues in higher education
  • Training in grant-funded projects
  • Knowledge of CRP operations or recovery program supervision
