Reporting to the Online Program Manager, the Instructional Production Specialist (IPS) will be an important team member in Baruch College’s Digital Learning Hub. The IPS will be a part of the Digital Learning Hub media team. Within the team, IPSes have designated areas of focus, as assigned.

The DLH serves as a central resource for building an online learning environment that is both effective and deeply aligned with the College's strategic vision.
The work and nature of this role require a non-traditional work schedule. This schedule may adjust over time based on faculty needs, with evening and weekend hours a requirement of the position.
Responsibilities:
- Produce and develop online course media and modules assigned by the Online Program Manager and DLH leadership including:
- Plan, film and edit engaging course content, seminars, promotional content, and other departmental and school content.
- Follow guidelines, best practices, and templates as defined by the team and reviewed by the Online Program Manager.
- Coach and provide feedback to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) appearing on camera on effective presentation techniques including delivery cadence, wardrobe, and student engagement strategies.
- Manage and label multimedia content in media asset tracking system.
- Quality check content before final delivery.
- Create interactive multimedia content using third-party and native learning management system tools.
- Create visual effects, such as animations, when needed for media projects.
- Collaborate with production team, instructional designers and SMEs to develop course content as needed.
- Review media assets for filming, such as slides or other visuals, for quality, correctness, and effectiveness and provide recommendations for revision or improvement.
- Create captions and ensure media meets accessibility requirements.
- Upload and manage media and media files in DLH repositories (including MS OneDrive, Dropbox, and Kaltura)
- Communicate effective project handoff notes when collaborating with other production team members.
- Maintain studio and equipment including:
- Maintain studio equipment including set up, cleaning, studio facilities and props, etc.
- Track the location and status of loaner equipment and escalate concerns about any obsolete, damaged, or missing equipment in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoot AV equipment failures and software issues.
- Research and stay current with new technologies and trends in instructional media.
- Support instruction design and course development.
- Collaborate with faculty, instructional designers and third-party vendors on the implementation of course media in the learning management system or other host solutions.
- Meet with instructional designers and subject matter experts/faculty to plan and execute media components aligned with production plans.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in film production or equivalent experience filming professional level videos. 3-5 years professional experience working for a media production company and/or educational media.
- Intermediate editing ability within Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Knowledgeable about educational media best practices, and social media trends.
- Ability to work quickly and flexibly in a deadline-driven environment.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to test, fail quickly, and learn from your mistakes. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Master’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, media production, or related degree.
- Experience with learning management systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design and higher education pedagogy

Provides expertise in digital and visual communications to support and advance the College's multimedia presence.
- Researches and identifies new multimedia platforms that advance College programs and initiatives
- Works closely with management to understand and produce effective message elements
- Creates and aligns various communication work products such as video, digital formats, layouts, graphics, web pages, and microsites to ensure consistency and effective messaging
- Assesses, enhances and manages the user experience on digital platforms including social media
- Collaborates with graphic designers, webmasters, and other information technology professionals to create comprehensive broadcast and multimedia communications
- Procures required internal and external resources and services and manages their utilization
- Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$74,490- $82,663; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
