Computer Information Systems Instructor - Cybersecurity Emphasis (MVC)
Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION: The successful candidate will be responsible for lecture and/or laboratory instruction in all aspects of computer information systems courses. The prospective candidate must be able to teach computer information systems, networking, programming, and cybersecurity courses offered by the college.
EDUCATION: Master's in computer science, computer engineering, management information systems, information assurance, cybersecurity, computer information systems or the equivalent is required.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two years of successful experience teaching computer information systems courses is required. Teaching experience related to networking, cybersecurity, and programming is preferred. A working knowledge and experience in network security, cybersecurity, forensics, VMware, VirtualBox, Virtual images, Python scripting and information assurance may be demonstrated by a portfolio of work products. Knowledge and experience with network design, maintenance, configuration and security is expected. Cloud computing experience is preferred. Scripting/automation experience is preferred. Experience with AI and ML for incident response and infrastructure deployment is preferred.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Active Certifications in one or more of the following areas is preferred: CompTIA SecurityX, Security+, Network+, A+, CCNA, Cisco Network Security, CISSP Certified Information Systems Security Professional, CEH Certified Ethical Hacking, CHFI Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator, Microsoft Azure Administrator, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Fulfill the duties of a full-time instructor, including holding weekly office hours and completing 24 hours of flex credit. The instructional assignment will include cybersecurity, networking, programming, and cloud computing lecture and/or laboratory classes. Faculty will participate in outcomes assessment work. Assignments are based upon the assumption of workload of forty hours weekly. Institutional service activities are expected of all faculty members.
