Position Overview
The University of California, Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) invites applications for a UC Cooperative Extension 4-H Youth Development Advisor for College and Career Readiness, serving Mendocino and Lake Counties. The Advisor will develop and deliver a program that will provide all youth meaningful personal development opportunities. The Advisor is expected to develop an extension and applied research program framed in positive youth development, emphasizing college and career readiness and curricula to promote program growth and expanded opportunities for youth participation.

Position Details
The Advisor will implement an innovative extension education and applied research program to address issues related to College and Career Readiness in Mendocino and Lake counties... [full details on program, oversight, opportunities, impacts, partnerships].
Counties of Responsibility: Headquartered in UCCE Lake County office, CA and activity in Mendocino County. Support to statewide 4-H network.
Reporting Relationship: Under UCCE Area County Director of UCCE Mendocino and Lake Counties, and 4-H Statewide Director. Not remote; onsite required.
Qualifications and Skills Required
Required Qualifications
- Education: Master's degree in youth/adult education or related (Youth Development, Psychology, etc.).
- Experience in applied research, program evaluation, education with youth.
- Strong leadership and program/personnel management.
- Meet UC academic appointment criteria... [travel, license, background check, CANRA, no visa sponsorship, not remote, misconduct disclosure].
Additional Skills Required
- Interest in UC Cooperative Extension career.
- Technical competence in youth development.
- Cultural sensitivity, work across socio-economic/ethnic groups.
- Communication skills (Spanish desired).
- Collaboration, teamwork.
- Lifelong learning.

- Work with diverse youth.
- Engage partners for 4-H.
- Communicate with officials, schools, etc.
- Work with adult volunteers.
- Secure extramural funding.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: Assistant Rank, Step I ($85,600) to Step VI ($108,600). See salary scales.
