Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. Experience advising students in a higher education/university environment. Experience in program development, implementation, and assessment. Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as the ability to exercise good judgement. Ability to coordinate a variety of work activities and work as part of a team. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, or related field. Experience coordinating tutoring, peer mentoring, success coaching, academic support, student engagement, or similar student success programs. Experience supervising, training, or developing student employees, tutors, peer mentors, student leaders, or other student support staff.
Job Description
Responsible for supporting student success, academic support, and engagement initiatives that promote student learning, persistence, retention, and graduation at the Texas State University Round Rock Campus. This position provides leadership for academic support programs, including The Study Zone tutoring center, peer mentoring, success coaching, and related academic skill-building initiatives.
Job Duties
- Provide leadership and coordination for academic support programs, including The Study Zone tutoring center, peer mentoring, success coaching, academic skill-building initiatives, and related student success programs.
- Develop, implement, and assess student success and academic support opportunities that address the needs of Round Rock Campus students and support learning, connection, retention, graduation, and post-graduation success.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and support student employees and student leaders serving in academic support roles, including tutors, peer mentors, and success coaching support staff.
- Support artificial intelligence (AI) literacy within academic support programs by developing resources, trainings, and practices that help student staff and students understand the responsible, ethical, and effective use of AI tools in learning environments.
- Collaborate with faculty, academic departments, student success units, and campus partners to identify academic support needs, strengthen referrals, and create opportunities for partnership.
