Coordinator, Student Well-being
Essential Job Functions
- Serves as a neutral party to help solve problems, resolve conflicts, and work to achieve fair outcomes
- Develops and maintains relationships with campus and community partners while supporting the needs of students navigating particular concerns or harmful experiences
- Prioritizes the well-being of students by providing emotional support and resource
- Attends meetings, hearings, medical/investigative procedures, emergency support and assists in coordinating services for students who encounter any unpleasant challenges
- Develops and facilitates educational presentations, trainings, and programs to promote health and wellness, safety, prompt reporting, respect, and responsibility to support students, as well as provided available resources and referrals
- Assists in providing housing, food, clothing, transportation, treatments, counseling, and/or other related processes, as requested by the affected individual
- Monitors and follow-ups on progress for ongoing cases and meets with those seeking support
- Completes accurate and timely case notes; maintains compliance and confidentiality as required by federal, state, and university laws.
- Establishes a reporting procedure and hotline for student emergencies
- Is available to students in emergency situations outside of business hours, including evenings and weekends
- Serves on the University Crisis Management/Behavior Intervention Team
- Other related duties, as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services or a related field
Minimum Experience
One (1) year of experience in victim/survivor services
Licenses/Certifications
Certifications or trainings in victim support, Title IX, or other related areas of student assistance, guidance, and support preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Title IX, sexual misconduct, dating violence, and other power-based personal violence and applicable federal and state laws and regulations
- Knowledge of crisis intervention and skills
- Skilled at providing trauma informed services
- Proficient computer skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to remain calm and utilize sound judgment in crisis situations
- Ability to maintain highly personal information in a confidential manner
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
