The Health Science & Human Ecology (HSCI) Department at California State University, San Bernardino is seeking part-time lecturer applications from a diverse group of qualified individuals for our San Bernardino Campus (SBC). The department is seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach in any of our four programs: Environmental Health Science, Nutritional Science & Dietetics, Health Services Administration and Public Health. Candidates must have at least a Master's degree, or specialized certification for activity classes, in a field of Health Science or related discipline. Preference will be given to candidates who have prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching. Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students. Preference will be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment. Preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary and all appointments are temporary. Staffing decisions are made on a rolling basis typically beginning a few months prior to the start of an academic term right up to the beginning of the academic term. We recommend submitting your application at least 4 months before the beginning of an academic term to be considered for available positions.

JOB SUMMARY

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Health Science & Human Ecology.

Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students across a wide range of disciplines.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Earned Master's degrees in Health Science or related area are required. In the case of teaching activities classes, a specialized certification may be acceptable. We strongly encourage members of underrepresented groups to apply.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Evidence of scholarly activity, publication, and innovation is valued. Evidence of exemplary graduate-level teaching and leadership experience at program level is preferred and should be noted in application.
