Digital Resources Specialist - Law Library

The Digital Resources Specialist organizes and manages the Law Library's digital library resources, the central assets of the scholarly record of faculty and student published scholarship. The position is charged to steward the unique elements of the Library's archives and digital content. Working in conjunction with the Digital Resources Librarian, the Digital Resources Specialist manages, processes, and annotates digital records and digitized materials. The DRS assists with digitization workflows and born‑digital preservation that document institutional and intellectual history, handles special projects, and prepares and arranges materials for special collections. This position locates, standardizes, and uploads content to the Law School's institutional repository and other digital collections to ensure discovery, integrity, and long‑term access.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT

This position requires an individual who can work with others in close proximity, push a book truck loaded with approximately 100 pounds of materials, has good manual dexterity, is able to climb a ladder, and has the ability to lift twenty pounds.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, skills & ability:

Required

  • Proficiency with common operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS).
  • Experience with productivity suites (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Zoom, or equivalent).
  • Advanced word-processing skills, including complex formatting, styles, tables, and citations/notes.
  • Ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets, including formulas, data sets, validation, and charts.
  • Ability to manage, clean, and transform data using spreadsheets or basic data conversion tools.
  • Consistent attention to detail and accuracy in document creation and data entry.
  • Strong proofreading and copyediting skills.
  • Familiarity with collaboration and file-sharing platforms.

Preferred

  • Interest in digital asset management, museums, archives, and special collections.
  • Classroom technology understanding.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Professional media editing proficiency.

Education & experience:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Preferred

  • Past experience or exposure to Bluebook citations or other scholarly citation framework.
  • Past experience with legal research or the legal field, generally.
  • Past experience in a library, museum or archive setting.

SALARY STRUCTURE: Full-time with Benefits

Hourly Grade 5: $19.72 to $29.33

Schedule Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5pm
