Director, CSTW
Position Overview
The Director of the Center for the Study of Teaching and Writing (CSTW) oversees the institute's five programs to include The Writing Center, Writing Across the Curriculum, Writing Associates Program, Columbus Global Academy, and Research. The Director offers support in fostering excellence amongst writers and teachers of writing at Ohio State and in the state of Ohio. The director provides strategic direction for the center, coordinates the five programs, supports ASC departments in curricular development, organizes workshops and events, and supervises staff.
Performance Objectives
- Effectively manage staff, undergraduate students, and graduate students
- Effectively manage budget
- Provide opportunities for faculty, staff, and student engagement
- Work with five programs in aiding and advancing Ohio State’s writing community
Education and Experience Requirements
Required: PhD or MFA and be a tenured faculty member at The Ohio State University
Desired: Tenure home in the College of Arts and Sciences. Viable candidates should have a track record of fostering writing-centered initiatives in and beyond Arts and Sciences, experience with curriculum development, and a scholarship agenda that aligns with the priorities of the center. An exemplary teaching record and previous experience managing a team and a budget are desired. Experience with, or interest in, fundraising efforts is also desirable.
