Job Summary:
The Director of Academic Integrity and Accountability to lead strategic efforts that foster a culture of ethical scholarship across the institution. This role oversees university-wide initiatives, student support services, and cross-department collaborations to uphold UMGC's Philosophy of Academic Integrity and adjudicate academic misconduct.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create, refine, and implement academic integrity policies and procedures. Ensure case managers conduct fair, consistent, and timely investigations and resolutions, including liaising with faculty when necessary.
- Develop and oversee the office's strategy and initiatives designed to foster a robust integrity culture, shifting the focus from punitive enforcement to educational developmental outcomes
- Lead the design and delivery of educational programming (workshops, tutorials, orientations, and communications) for students, faculty, and staff aimed at preventing misconduct and supporting academic integrity principles
- Hire, supervise, and mentor case managers and staff; provide ongoing training, conduct performance evaluations, and maintain awareness of best practices in academic integrity through participation in professional networks.
- Serve as the primary liaison with faculty, senior leadership, and other units (e.g., legal affairs, student conduct) to ensure integrated and equitable resolution of cases; advise instructors on responding effectively to incidents.
- Track trends in integrity violations, maintain central records, and generate reports (internal and external) to inform continuous improvement and institutional accountability.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and at least five (5) years of relevant experience, including management responsibilities, in student affairs, student relations, or student conduct administration in higher education, or a related field.
- Experience managing complex student or faculty cases, applying institutional policy, and ensuring due process.
- Familiarity with issues like plagiarism, cheating, AI misuse, and restorative or developmental approaches.
- Proven skill in working with diverse stakeholders (students, faculty, staff, and administrators).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong skills in process design, problem solving, and creative thinking for student-centered solutions.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in working with diverse groups.
- Ability to use data to assess and improve outcomes.
- Commitment to restorative practices, proven leadership and team development.

Hiring Range:
$100,000.00 - $110,000.00
