Director of Career Services

Dunwoody College of Technology | Minneapolis, MN

Dunwoody College of Technology is seeking a strategic, student-centered leader to serve as Director of Career Services. This role is central to our mission of preparing students for successful, meaningful careers before enrollment, throughout their education, and well beyond graduation.

What You’ll Do

As Director of Career Services, you’ll lead Dunwoody’s “Career Ready” program and ensure career development is embedded into the student experience. You will:

  • Guide and expand a comprehensive career readiness program for students and alumni
  • Build and maintain strong employer partnerships to grow internships, jobs, and networking opportunities
  • Recruit, lead, and support a high-performing career services team
  • Collaborate with faculty and academic leadership to integrate career readiness into coursework and campus life
  • Track, analyze, and report employment outcomes to college leadership
  • Organize career fairs, workshops, networking events, and employer panels aligned with workforce trends
  • Advise students and alumni on career planning, job search strategies, and professional growth
  • Create initiatives that remove employment barriers and promote equitable career outcomes
  • Represent Career Services in media and external communications

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a relationship-builder, strategic thinker, and strong communicator who is passionate about student success. Qualifications include:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management abilities
  • Experience coaching students or job seekers on résumés, interviewing, and career planning
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners
  • Comfort using data, technology, and enterprise systems to drive results
  • Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and ethical practices
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in career services or related fields
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain employer partnerships and deliver effective career development programming.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with career management platforms and data analysis tools.
  • Commitment to equity in career services practices.
  • Autonomy and self-direction.
