POSITION SUMMARY
The Director is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Adult Degree Program (ADP), the Alternative Teacher Certification Program (ATCP), and the Continuing Education Program. This role encompasses administration, faculty coordination, curriculum development, student services, public relations, and accreditation support.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Adult Degree Program (ADP)
- Ensure the quality of instruction, curriculum, and student outcomes.
- Lead curriculum revisions and updates.
- Develop and implement short- and long-term goals.
- Represent the ADP on campus committees.
- Participate in academic assignments at the program, committee, and college levels.
- Schedule and manage adjunct faculty assignments.
- Conduct evaluations of adjunct faculty.
- Collaborate with enrollment, student support, financial aid, and admissions teams.
- Coordinate with the Education Department Chair for students pursuing education certification.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Provost.
B. Alternative Teacher Certification Program (ATCP)
- Plan and manage all aspects of the ATCP.
- Maintain high standards in instruction, curriculum, and student outcomes.
- Set and pursue strategic goals for the program.
- Oversee curriculum development and revisions.
- Conduct ongoing program assessments and implement improvements.
- Prepare and update application materials.
- Manage applicant intake processes.
- Develop and maintain intern training schedules.
- Coordinate consultants for intern training.
- Serve as liaison among principals, mentors, and interns.
- Organize training for mentors and principals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
C. Continuing Education Program
- Identify and engage with business and industry partners.
- Design and deliver customized training programs for workforce development.
- Conduct needs assessments and manage planning, scheduling, budgeting, and operations.
- Promote the Continuing Education Program to external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Doctorate in Education (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) required.
Minimum of five years of experience in education, with knowledge of Texas Education Agency (TEA) regulations.
Experience in program and staff management preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Proficiency in computer systems is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
- Results-driven with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
SUPERVISION
This position reports to the Provost.
SALARY RANGE
$75,000 Annually, plus benefits!
POSITION STATUS
Full-time; in-person.

Founded in 1875, Huston-Tillotson University is Austin's first institution of higher education.
