Director of Disabilities Services and Title IX Coordinator

Carlow University is currently accepting applications for our Director of Disabilities Services & Title IX Coordinator position. This role holds primary responsibility for ensuring that Carlow University students with documented disabilities receive equitable access and support to facilitate successful degree completion. Additionally, the Director ensures the University's compliance with Title IX regulations, addressing issues related to discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct in accordance with federal, state, and local applicable laws. The Director will also work to ensure that Carlow University complies with all relevant student-facing anti-discrimination laws for both disabilities and under Title IX. The Director is expected to demonstrate exemplary competence, confidentiality, sensitivity, and integrity in all areas, while collaborating effectively with, and providing professional development to, senior-level stakeholders, including but not limited to Academic Affairs, faculty, Health and Counseling Services, Student Affairs, DEI, and Facilities. This position reports to the Chief Diversity, Equity, Ethics, and Inclusion Officer, with additional oversight from the Vice President of Student Affairs and the Dean of Students.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3-5 years of demonstrated work experience with Title IX, ADA, section 504, Title VII, sexual misconduct, intimate partner violence, employee relations, and other related regulations and laws.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging faculty, staff, and students
- Demonstrated experience conducting investigations.
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office products (word, excel and PowerPoint)
- Expert knowledge in providing accommodations to ensure the success of students with disabilities in compliance with section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the ADA.
- Experience delivering training on Title IX, compliance, sexual misconduct, accessibility, and the student accommodations processes.
- Experience with Database platforms, such as EAB Navigate, Symplicity Advocate and Accommodate, or similar.
- Adept at analyzing data and building an assessment cycle for the offices.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Title IX investigation certification (or ability to obtain within three months)
- Proven experience managing compliance-related tasks.
- Success managing multiple investigations or projects simultaneously.
- Experience applying best practices in Title IX management and student accommodation.
- Ability to manage confidential materials effectively.
- Strong knowledge of higher education trends in student accessibility, and Title IX regulatory compliance.
