"Director of Financial Aid"

The Director of Financial Aid is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, management, assessment, and continuous improvement of comprehensive student financial aid programs, work-study, and scholarship services.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
• 3 years of college/university experience in student financial programs or business services
• Knowledge of the administration of and regulations governing federal and student financial aid programs is preferred
• Knowledge of industry-related software and database management, experience with PowerFaids preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Management skills, in particular goal setting, supervision and budgeting experience preferred

Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Develops, implements, and revises procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state law, and institutional financial aid regulations, policies and procedures.
• Develops and maintains effective student-centered financial aid communications ensuring communications reflect current compliance with federal and state regulations, accuracy of policies and processes, and the integrity of consumer information.
• Maintains an elevated level of professional competence in best practices in financial aid, program assessment, operational budgeting, and a working knowledge of the University software system.
• Maintains financial aid data and ensures timely and accurate submission of required federal, state, and local reports and funding requests.
• Ensures that the College has exception-free Financial Aid audits and program reviews by keeping abreast of and implementing all federal and state laws and regulations that pertain to the programs administered by the Financial Aid Office.
