The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Colorado, School of Medicine is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to be responsible for the overall administrative operations and management for the Department. This full time University Staff position will be the recognized operations advisor to the Department Chair, Executive Faculty, and Director of Finance and Administration (DFA). The Director of Operations will provide high quality, creative, and solutions-oriented operational support, advice, and counsel at the strategic, policy, and administrative levels. They will work closely with the DFA to support the implementation of the Department's operational and strategic plans. In addition, they will collaborate closely with management at the University, School, CU Medicine and affiliate institutions to ensure business standards and objectives are met. This individual will have departmental fiduciary and operational responsibilities and will be accountable for meeting standards for compliance with applicable School, University, CU Medicine and Hospital policies, procedures, laws, etc.
The position is responsible and accountable for the analysis of fiscal and human resources required to achieve Department objectives including hiring, compensation, termination, and performance management of subordinate employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership of Departmental administrative & operational team members.
- Implementation of Department's administrative, operational, and strategic priorities
- Creation and implementation of administrative and operational workstreams, policies, and procedures that enhance clinical productivity across the Department.
- Collaboration with hospital partners and leaders across the Department to meet the growing clinical and academic work of the faculty.
- Fiscal responsibilities for administrative and operational budgeting and spend.
Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
- Six (6) years progressive administrative experience within a healthcare, university, or similar setting.
- Substitution: An advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis if the degree is in a field of study directly related to the work assignment.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of direct supervisory experience
- Master's degree in directly related field
- Experience in academic medicine
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students; experienced in the supervision of administrative and support staff personnel.
- Effective communication/presentation skills and a proven track record of forming collaborative and effective working relationships with physicians and administrative staff.
- Commitment to fostering the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology's hiring practices, patient care, and, in an ongoing manner, facilitating an inclusive workplace at all freestanding sites of practice.
- Supervisory experience.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Operations experience including healthcare access & productivity.
- Financial experience

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $83,631 to $106,379
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
