Description:
Directs and provides overall management of the University of Houston Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC) which provides business/process consulting and training assistance to manufacturing and related businesses. Responsible for planning, administration, and supervision of the Center.
- Provides overall program administration at the region level, which may include the development and expansion of supervised programs.
- Oversees the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports for various program funding agencies; and the development of strategic plans, goals and objectives.
- Prepares annual budgets and plans and monitors same throughout the year to ensure established goals and objectives are achieved.
- Responsible for contract negotiations and administration; maintenance and updating of management and operational procedures; development of information, education, and technical resources; and for administering performance evaluation of the center.
- Establishes work assignments of professional staff and provides guidance, professional development, and work direction as required.
- Analyzes results of region-wide operations, develops new programs, and identifies and purchases business/management tools.
- Develops, monitors and promotes relationships with state and local government officials, agencies and organizations. May meet regularly with area economic development organizations and manufacturing groups to promote the center and support manufacturers.
- May provide publicity services and public relations for the region program and as needed, around the region.
- Develops proposals for funding of new programs or the expansion of existing ones.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience.
