Director of Ticketing and Patron Services
Position Announcement
The Director of Ticketing and Patron Services oversees all ticketing operations at Utah Tech University across athletics, performing arts, community, and commercial events. This role is responsible for managing ticketing strategy, fiscal reconciliation, customer service standards, and front-of-house integration for multiple campus venues, including the America First Performing Arts Center. Reporting to the Executive Director of Event Services, this position supervises full-time and part-time staff and serves as the primary liaison with University departments and external partners on all matters related to ticketing and patron experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the Utah Tech University Ticket Office operations, ensuring professional service across athletics, fine arts, UTSA, and commercial events.
- Supervise two full-time staff (with anticipated growth to five) and 30-75 part-time employees, in coordination with Assistant Managers.
- Develop and implement box office staffing schedules, event setup checklists, and event settlements.
- Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of event settlement reports, deposits, and fiscal documentation.
- Maintain strong relationships with ticketing software vendors, and serve as lead administrator for Paciolan and associated technologies.
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Director of Event Services on strategic planning, policy development, and customer experience.
- Coordinate onboarding and ongoing training for ticket sellers, part-time staff, and front-of-house support roles.
- Provide leadership in managing the America First Performing Arts Center box office and front-of-house operations, as well as other University venues.
- Initiate, implement, and document change management procedures and enhancements to operational efficiency.
- Ensure University compliance with PCI, cash handling, and audit requirements.
- Maintain ticket office website and contribute to digital ticketing and mobile strategies.
- Serve as primary contact for major ticketed events, including post-season athletics and large-scale performances.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Associate's degree plus extensive experience may be substituted for the degree.
- At least three years' related experience required.
- Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles required; knowledge of cultural and athletic events preferred.
- Knowledge of computerized ticketing systems.
- Knowledge of computers and basic troubleshooting skills, requiring administrative access to computers.
- Knowledge of website software and Microsoft Office suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
- Knowledge of ticket office operations and accepted accounting and recordkeeping practices relating to ticket selling.
- Knowledge of basic math, accounting and budgeting systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to properly represent the university and department in exercising good human relations skills.
Supplemental Information
Salary: $65,000.00 - $71,000.00 Annually

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time overtime-exempt staff position. Annual salary of $65,000+ depending on qualifications and experience. Desired start date of January/February 2026.
