Position Information:
The Director of Ticketing manages the day-to-day ticketing operations for the Athletics Department. This position will actively manage timelines/execute plans to hit revenue and ticketing goals for the fiscal year including ticket packages and single game tickets for Men's and Women's Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Men's and Women's Soccer, Volleyball, Track and Field/Cross Country. This role will assist with creating results-driven sales strategies, ticketing manifests, and is expected to drive outbound call volume, sales revenue, and face-to-face meetings around various ticket sales campaigns. Responsible for driving ticket sales to grow revenue for the Department of Athletics, monitor, analyze and interpret ticket sales data, financial settlements, revenue generation, ticket software maintenance, marketing campaigns and providing assistance in the area of event management. Responsible for ensuring all requirements of the job are executed consistently and efficiently. Responsible for providing supervision of the ticket and event student staff. Work in collaboration with the Athletics Business Office (ABO) for reporting and reconciliation of ticket sales. Responsible for working with the ABO to ensure the necessary internal controls and cash management follow the University policies and procedures.
The full salary range for the Director of Ticketing is $68,500.00 - $121,900.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Requirements:
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required
- Master's degree. Preferred
Experience Requirements
- 4 - 7 years of related experience. Required
Certification Requirements
- Ticketing Certification Preferred
Special Conditions
- Shift Work (hours outside standard Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM work hours) Required
- Travel Required
- Travel Outside of Normal Business Hours Required
- In addition to regular office hours, the qualified candidate must be available to work the majority of UCR's home athletic contests, as well as other events assigned. These events can be nights, weekends and/or holidays. Required
Minimum Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of the campus and/or medical center's products and services.
- Thorough analytical and written communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of marketing mediums and funding sources.
- Thorough knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques.
- Strong interpersonal communication and political acumen skills.
- Strong skills in event and media activities management.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service background.
- Previous experience with college athletics, professional sports ticket operations experience and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience with ticket analytics.
- Experience with ticket sales, event management, ticketing database/software.
- Experienced in social media platform usage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of the campus and/or medical center, including its achievements, mission, vision, goals, objectives and infrastructure.
- Knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and FinalCut.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinates activities including events and promotional materials and products designed to promote awareness of the department and/or campus and/or medical center services, programs or products within the campus and/or medical center community or to the general public. 10%
- Manage all consignment tickets received and distributed; issue and control all complimentary tickets in accordance with NCAA, Big West Conference and UCR guidelines; directly manage game day ticket operations at events where the attendance or complexity of the event dictate the presence of a ticket manager; oversee necessary ticket operations at events such as the Big West and NCAA championship events; process group ticket sales and assist in the coordination of related promotions; 10%
- Contacts new and existing customers to discuss their needs, and to explain how these needs could be met by specific products and services.
