General Job Description:
The Director/Assistant Director of Enrollment Operations supports the mission of Gardner-Webb University by overseeing the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of all admissions and enrollment records through the University’s CRM (Slate by Technolutions), Banner, and related systems. This role provides advanced CRM and systems support, leads Slate maintenance and configuration, and ensures smooth integration of data across platforms.
The position works closely with Undergraduate, Graduate, and Online Admissions, Graduate Studies, Technology Services, campus partners, and a range of external partners to maintain high-quality data, optimize recruitment workflows, and develop technology solutions that advance GWU’s enrollment goals. This role requires both technical depth and the ability to serve as a friendly, mission-driven ambassador of Gardner-Webb University.
- Create, execute, and maintain student records in Slate for inquiries, applicants, and enrolled students.
- Oversee day-to-day Slate operations including forms, events, rules, workflows, retention policies, and resource optimization.
- Review and optimize CRM processes and backend operations; suggest enhancements for efficiency and data quality.
- Manage and maintain student records in Slate CRM and Banner.
- Ensure Slate data maintains integrity and integrates cleanly into Banner; serve as the primary point of contact for data needs across University offices.
- Work closely with Technology Services and other possible external partners to maintain and enhance connections between Slate and Banner.
- Stay current on Slate functionality, updates, and best practices; attend trainings, webinars, and professional development workshops.
- Lead data-focused Slate projects using Configurable Joins, source formats, scheduled exports, and other advanced Slate tools.
- Design, build, and maintain Slate portals to support applicants, staff, and campus users.
- Research, develop, and maintain Slate integrations with internal systems and external partners.
- Develop and maintain queries, dashboards, and reports to support admissions goals, track student populations, and inform decision-making.
- Create and maintain automated workflows, communications, and letters in the CRM to support recruitment and yield initiatives.
- Ensure data governance standards, downstream system impacts, and reporting accuracy are upheld in all Slate processes.
Other Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Slate preferred.
- Experience with Banner, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and document-imaging systems (e.g., AppXtender).
- Minimum 2 years of Slate CRM administration experience preferred (experience as a Slate Captain is a plus).
- Working knowledge of database structure, data integrity, and CRM–ERP integrations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze detailed information accurately.
- Experience with SQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, or other scripting languages preferred.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively, manage multiple projects, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- He/she should possess strong oral and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
Individual must have the ability and be licensed to operate a motor vehicle. Must be able to lift and transport up to 50 pounds.
