DSIP Program Assistant (Academic Affairs-IDARE)
The Department of Academic Affairs at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health is seeking a Program Assistant. The DSIP Program Assistant provides basic administrative and operational support for a specific program within a department. The Program Assistant supports the planning and daily operations of the program.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide support for outreach activities and internal events; assist with preparation of materials, set-up and breakdown, and participate as needed at events and activities.
- Assist with data entry, report production, and basic analysis of program results.
- Assist with development and distribution of program communications.
- Respond to or elevate questions and provide customer service through email and by phone.
- Contact service personnel or other resources for program needs.
- Monitor supply inventory and order supplies.
- Operate and coordinate the servicing of office equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
In addition to the duties described above
- The Program Assistant is responsible for supporting the residential portion of the Diversity Summer Internship Program.
- Reside in Charles Commons for the duration of the program (May 31st- July 28, 2026)
- Coordinate and provide support for interns throughout the week from 6 pm-11pm.
- Participate in the management of student behavior issues in the residence halls by responding to incidents, meeting with students, and pursuing appropriate action.
- Work closely with Housing services as well as housekeeping staff to promote a safe and clean-living environment.
- Conduct sessions on topics pertaining to personal & professional development with DSIP Director Support.
- Administrative tasks and program planning.
- Meets with interns throughout the summer to offer support.
- Review assignment submissions and provide feedback including the final research paper.
- Responsible to abide by all JHU policies including, but not limited to, code of conduct, ethics, housing, substance use, and Title IX as well as DSIP’s policies.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or graduation equivalent.
- Six months of related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Technical Qualifications & Specialized Certifications
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
