The Educator and Co-coordinator works collaboratively with all nursing faculty, administration, and students to develop and implement clinical simulation as a method of learning fornursing students to enhance and support their educational needs. This is a 12-month appointment.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency with computer skills and use of instructional technology strategies.
- Knowledge of education principles and teaching-learning methods.
- Excellent public relations abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- In-depth clinical knowledge of outcome-based patient care.
- A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience (5 years preferred).
- Minimum BSN required.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Virginia required.
- Current CPR certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Clinical experience in medical/surgical, critical care, obstetrics, and/or pediatrics.
- Teaching experience and use of classroom technologies.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications relevant to simulator functions.
- MSN preferred. If possesses BSN only,
- national certification preferred.
- or enrolled in a graduate nursing program or CNE (Certified Nurse Educator) certified.
