English as a Second Language (ESL) Adjunct Instructor (TEMPORARY)

Job Description

The English as a Second Language Department at Los Medanos Community College is accepting applications for part-time faculty.

The position is a temporary assignment to staff classes for Fall 2026 and/or Spring 2027. Part-time ESL@LMC faculty must be able and qualified to teach different levels of proficiency, curriculum areas, modalities, and times in both the day/evening; prepare and grade class assignments according to the official course outlines of record; evaluate academic progress and course outcomes; manage scholastic records and submit them by published deadlines; and be able to serve students of diverse ages, ethnicities, languages, and academic backgrounds.

We are seeking high quality community college instructional candidates to teach in-person day and evening classes at the Pittsburg campus.

Description of Position

Provide instruction at Entry and Bridge, Intermediate, and/or Advanced levels of English as a second language instruction focusing on pronunciation, speaking, listening, grammar, writing, reading, and vocabulary.
