Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education (IELCE) Coordinator (Part-Time)
Job Description
The Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education (IELCE) Coordinator is a part-time, position located primarily on the OCH Campus in Monroe, NC. Under the direction of the ESOL Director, the IELCE Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Title II, Adult Education and Family Literacy Act IELCE grant.
Essential Duties Summary
- Develop, pilot, and implement transitional pathway models for IELCE program participants
- Design and implement course schedules that effectively align with projected student and pathway needs.
- Teach a minimum of 6 hours per week and sub as needed
- Serve as a primary point of contact for the IELCE program, overseeing day-to-day communication and coordination with internal partners
- Oversee and assist in coordinating student advising and navigation services delivered by Transitions Specialist
- Assist with the development of strategies and action steps for meeting programmatic performance indicators.
- Assist with the management of local, state, and federal IELCE documentation.
- Attend local, regional, and state meetings and use the information received to improve service delivery and performance measures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the ESOL Director and/or ABE Executive Director.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- NRS-recognized teaching credential or the ability to earn an NRS credential within two years of hire.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience teaching adult learners.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to deal effectively, cooperatively, and tactfully with students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Personal and professional integrity, which communicates a sense of mission, leadership, and ability to self-start.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience utilizing online learning platforms and/or Learning Management Systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Teachers of English for Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), Education, or related field.
- Experience supervising and managing personnel.
