"Evening Circulation Desk Assistant - Cape Cod Community College"

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Circulation Desk Assistant is responsible for providing customer service and guidance to library patrons. This position works evening (Wednesday and Thursday, 3pm-8 pm) and weekend hours (Saturday 9 am - 1pm).

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

1. Register patrons in the CLAMS automated library system.
2. Charge and discharge library materials to library patrons, including items on reserve.
3. Assist patrons in the use of the photocopier and answer directional questions.
4. Refer patrons to the Reference Desk.
5. Produce College student ID cards.
6. Shelve library materials.

Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Customer service experience.
2. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
3. Thorough knowledge of basic computer applications.
4. Ability to pay strict attention to detail.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Experience with the Koha library systems or other ILS.
2. Experience working with diverse populations.

Additional Information:

COMPENSATION: $20 per hour, 14 hours per week when classes are in session. Part-time, non-benefited. Non-unit position.
