Executive Assistant
This position serves as the assistant for one of three Associate Deans of the College of Arts & Sciences and is responsible for assisting the Associate Dean in the completion of assigned duties (space management, CAS Graduate programs, Winter/Summer Session, department reviews and scholarships). The position also maintains the Associate Dean’s calendar and generates correspondence. Since the Associate Dean’s responsibilities may vary based on initiatives at the unit and university level, the position’s assignments may vary as well.
Minimum Qualifications:
HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENCY AND THREE YEARS OF PROGRESSIVELY RESPONSIBLE ADMINISTRATIVE/OFFICE MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE; OR GRADUATION OR ASSOCIATE’S DEGREE IN SECRETARIAL SCIENCE, BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, OR A RELATED DISCIPLINE AND ONE YEAR OF PROGRESSIVELY RESPONSIBLE ADMINISTRATIVE/OFFICE MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE; OR BACHELOR’S DEGREE, PREFERABLY IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION OR A RELATED DISCIPLINE; OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE. ALL DEGREES MUST BE RECEIVED FROM APPROPRIATELY ACCREDITED INSTITUTIONS.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills, including articulateness and responsiveness to questions from faculty, staff, students, and the public.
- Strong organizational & writing skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Self motivated, ability to work independently.
- Previous experience in a university setting.
