Faculty Affairs Coordinator
Position Purpose:
Reporting to the Manager of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development, the Faculty Affairs Coordinator assists in the day-to-day operations and functions within Faculty Affairs and Professional Development that serves over 1400 faculty and staff positions. This position is responsible for reporting and the manipulation and analysis of data to aid in the decision making process within Faculty Affairs. Serves as a liaison to Academic Affairs, Human Resources and interacts with Associate Deans, Oakland and Beaumont Department Chairs, faculty, and staff on matters relevant to the appointment, reappointment and promotion and tenure review processes. Organizes and conducts faculty affairs activities including the coordination and delivery of new faculty orientation sessions, training sessions relative to meaningful participation (MPP) and the faculty data tracking system (SmartPath), and oversees the appointment application process. Develops and writes online modules and coordinates Faculty Affairs related website updates.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or a closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience and a minimum of three years of progressively responsible administrative experience.
- One year of professional experience in an academic setting.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, multi-tasking and time management skills.
- The ability to be resourceful, analyze problems and propose solutions.
- Demonstrated team player.
- Strong database skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to effectively interact with high profile members of the university, hospital and community.
