Saint Francis University invites applications for a 9-month full-time tenure track or non-tenured track position within the department of Computer Science in the School of STEAM to start August 2026. The computer science program is an exclusively undergraduate program emphasizing high quality teaching practices in small classes with hands-on experiences for our students. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the potential to excel as a teacher both in the traditional lecture format as well as online, while the primary role for this position is in the traditional (in-person) classroom. The successful applicant will teach a wide range of courses for majors (such as machine learning, secure programming, and cryptography) and related disciplines and will have the ability to develop an undergraduate research program. The ability to teach mathematics courses, such as discrete mathematics and calculus, records of published research in peer-reviewed venues, experience mentoring undergrad & grad students, and demonstrated potential for securing external funds are all preferable traits.
The ideal candidate will have a terminal degree in Computer Science or related field; outstanding candidates with a master’s degree will also be considered (for non-tenure track position). The position requires a commitment to teaching excellence, student advising, academic scholarship, university service, campus and professional activities, participation in the University’s general education program, and community outreach. Prior teaching experience is preferred.
