About the Opportunity
The Faculty HR Associate is responsible for managing a broad range of faculty affairs transactions, including job requisitions; visiting appointments (paid and unpaid); personnel actions such as job changes and terminations; part-time faculty payment processing; and faculty compensation payments and stipends. In close partnership with the Manager of Faculty HR Administration, the Faculty HR Associate supports these activities and responds to a variety of faculty-related needs.
The Faculty HR Associate works directly with new faculty hires to complete required employment verification, including the I-9 process, and assists with maintaining accurate personnel files and databases. This role monitors visa and funding expirations, facilitates employment and visa extensions and terminations, and supports the administration of faculty contracts, as appropriate.
Serving as a key point of contact for faculty within an assigned portfolio, the Faculty HR Associate responds to inquiries that require a strong working knowledge of HR policies and procedures. The Faculty HR Associate collaborates closely with the college, the Office of Global Services, and the Office of General Counsel to support immigration processes for faculty and part-time lecturers, and works with the broader HR team to ensure an efficient intake of materials and coordination of H-1B, J-1, STEM-OPT, Permanent Resident, and other immigration-related applications as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Working knowledge of human resources policies, procedures, programs, and applicable employment laws, with the ability to think critically and quickly learn and apply new concepts.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels. Ability to communicate information clearly and with appropriate detail, build and maintain strong working relationships, and exercise diplomacy and tact when navigating sensitive or complex situations.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and demonstrated ability to learn and use core HR systems and platforms.
- Knowledge and skills typically acquired through a related bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, along with one to three years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
- Experience with Workday and Smartsheet is preferred.

Compensation Grade/Pay Type: 108S
Expected Hiring Range: $60,315.00 - $85,192.50
With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
