Job Description

The Financial Analyst within the Office of Research and Graduate Studies at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive financial management support. This position will primarily focus on financial projections, monitoring expenditures, and supporting internal grant mechanisms. Additionally, the Financial Analyst will serve as a backup for pre-award and post-award positions within the College. This role requires a strong background in financial management, attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced academic research environment.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field (relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
Proven experience in financial management, preferably in an academic or research setting.
Familiarity with grant funding regulations, policies, and procedures.
Proficiency in financial management software and tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
