Brief Summary of Work for this Position: The Financial Reporting Manager manages the accounting operations of the financial reporting unit. This position works with the Associate Controller to ensure the accuracy, compliance, and strategic utility of financial data. Key responsibilities include the preparation of the University's financial statements and annual comprehensive financial report (ACFR), overseeing the month-end/year-end closing processes related to financial reporting (especially moving from cash to accrual basis), and ensuring GASB compliance.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Four-year degree in accounting, finance, business management or other discipline related to area of work with a minimum of 12 credit hours of accounting course work and 7 years professional accounting experience, or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Experience working in a university environment; experience with governmental fund accounting and governmental accounting standards; supervisory experience; experience working with ERP systems; Banner Finance experience. CPA, MBA, masters degree in accounting, or equivalent masters degree preferred.
