SUNY Oswego Department of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 24 intercollegiate varsity athletic programs as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC).
The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications to fill a full-time Head Tennis Coach position.

Compensation: Minimum salary $55,000 commensurate with experience plus full New York State benefits package.

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics (AVPIA), the Head Tennis Coach plays a key role in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics (IA) and the broader campus community...
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the overall leadership of the men's and women's tennis programs.
- Work within the mission of SUNY Oswego, Division of Student Affairs, and Department of Intercollegiate Athletics to provide a competitive, unique, and memorable collegiate athletic experience for student-athletes.
- Support SUNY Oswego, Student Affairs, and IA's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Recruit and retain academically and athletically qualified student-athletes...
- Develop a recruitment philosophy that reflects the recruitment of student-athletes from geographically and demographically diverse populations...
- Organize all campus visits...
- Maintain a team roster of at least 10 student-athletes on both the women's and men's teams...
- Coordinate with the department's compliance office...
- Encourage and promote academic excellence among student-athletes...
- Develop and sustain relationships with athletic alumni...
- Collaborate with the department's communication office...
- Establish and enforce communication regarding SUNY Oswego, IA, and team regulations...
- Create a competitive program that fosters sportsmanship...
- Train players effectively on rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques.
- Manage all administrative aspects of the program...
- Disclose all funds and gifts received...
- Handle public relations activities...
- Promote the sport at local, state, and national levels.
- Work closely with athletic trainers...
- Supervise assistant coaches...
- Serve as game management administrator as directed by the AVPIA.
- Oversee athletic facilities...
- Hold current certifications in First Aid and CPR...
- Maintain any required licenses or certifications...
- Consult with the AVPIA and serve on institutional committees as needed.
- Perform secondary duties assigned by the AVPIA.
- Contribute to the overall success of the intercollegiate athletics program...
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree at the time of application
- Minimum 1-3 years of collegiate coaching experience.
- Experience in developing and implementing diversity, equity, inclusion, wellness-related, and student success programming.
- Strong background in all aspects of leading a competitive men's and women's tennis program.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NCAA Division III coaching experience preferred.
