HR Business Partner
Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, the Human Resources Business Partner (Managing Assistant Director 1) will consult with internal university divisions and leadership to align division-specific strategic goals with central human resources (HR) strategies. The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will be the primary point of contact for senior leadership in a portfolio of "client" departments for all HR-related matters, ranging from complex organizational development needs to coordinating HR services for specific personnel matters such as recruiting, employee relations, training and development, and more.
The primary focus of this position will be to serve as a trusted resource for the Division of Academic Affairs and other departments or divisions, as assigned. The HRBP will learn the specific goals, opportunities and challenges for each client department and will work proactively to align available HR resources, strategy and services. The HRBP's goal is to connect the university's greater goals and mission to the solutions and services provided by the HR team. The HRBP will learn the specific strategies, goals and plans at the departmental level, and bring that information back to the HR team. The HRBP is engrained within the clients' departments, learning and understanding their business challenges and opportunities, and can match their business needs to the services available within HR. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and a minimum of two years of professional experience in a Human Resources field, including HR generalist experience is required. At least 4 years of this experience and a Master's degree in Human Resources, Business, Public Administration or a related field is preferred. Previous experience in higher education human resources or business operations is also preferred. Candidate must have excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations; and proficiency in Microsoft 365. Experience with Workday HCM is a plus.

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Law, the annual salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000. This position may also be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, a retirement plan and benefits for work life balance.
