Information Specialist Copyright
Job Summary
As an Information Specialist for Copyright and Information Provision, you will have a substantive and advisory role at Utrecht University. You will provide information literacy training and be part of the Copyright Information Point (AIP). From the AIP, you will advise the UU community on copyright aspects in education and research, such as permissible materials in teaching and questions about open access licenses or open educational resources. You will support teachers, students, and colleagues at the University Library Utrecht.
You will teach information skills to students in the Faculty of Law, Economics, Governance, and Organization. You will work within the Education Support department of the University Library and actively contribute to developing new educational services while critically evaluating existing offerings. The role is broad and varied.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver training on information skills.
- Support students and teachers in finding and using scientific information.
- Advise researchers, students, and teachers on copyright issues.
- Strengthen library services for the Faculty of Law, Economics, Governance, and Organization and the broader UU community.
- Contribute to developing innovative digital learning materials, such as knowledge clips, LibGuides, and e-modules.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Background in law and knowledge of copyright.
- Strong digital skills.
- Knowledge or affinity with research in one of the fields of the Faculty of Law, Economics, Governance, and Organization.
- Experience in sharing knowledge and engaging audiences, both in groups and individually.
- Excellent proficiency in Dutch (C1 level) and English (B2 level).
What the Employer Offers
A permanent contract for an indefinite period; a workweek of 32 to 40 hours with a gross monthly salary ranging from €3,546 to €5,538 for a full-time position (scale 10 of the Dutch Universities Collective Labour Agreement); 8% holiday pay and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%; a pension scheme, partially paid parental leave, and flexible employment conditions based on the Dutch Universities Collective Labour Agreement.
