Position Description

The Department of Art & Visual Culture invites applications for a part-time Instructor to teach an undergraduate foundations course 'SAVC 253 User Experience Design: Applications' to Interactive Media minors and non-minors beginning January 2026.

Instructor needs to be able to teach in-person.

Applicants should demonstrate a strong background in UX/UI Design that includes an understanding of visual language principles, accessibility design, information architecture, wireframing and prototyping, designing responsive interfaces for web and mobile, the user centered design process, and working with industry standard tools (Figma).

Applicants should have an active professional studio practice (that includes exhibitions, residencies/fellowships, and/or publications) or equivalent professional work experience in the space of user experience design.

The Department of Art & Visual Culture is part of the Division of the Arts that includes the departments of Dance Performance & Choreography, Music, Theater & Performance, and the Spelman College Innovation Lab.
