Instructor, Couples & Family Therapy
Position Description
Seattle University's Couples and Family Therapy program invites applications for a term faculty Instructor position for AY 2025-2026 starting September 2025. This is a single year appointment and may be renewable. The Commission for Accreditation on Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) classifies the MACFT program as campus-based and all classes are taught in person.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and supervising couples and family therapy Master's level students. The candidate will provide service, such as attending program meetings/events, participating in the program's assessment cycle, conducting admission reviews and interviews, and advising students.
Qualifications
Candidates with a doctorate or an ABD in Marriage/Couples and Family Therapy or closely related field are preferred. Candidates with an MA/MS will be considered. Licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (full or provisional) and status as an AAMFT Approved Supervisor or Supervisor Candidate are required. Evidence of successful teaching is required.

Compensation at a Glance
Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000 base salary depending on experience and qualifications at hire.
Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate’s gender or any other protected status.
