Position Highlights
The International Recruitment Advisor is directly responsible for recruiting prospective international students to the University of Arizona. As part of their recruitment efforts, the Recruitment Advisor will act as the main point of contact for a designated territory, maintain a comprehensive understanding of the University of Arizona's academic offerings and admission's processes, and engage in recruitment activities (i.e. international travel, virtual presentations, appointments, proactive outreach) that meet strategic enrollment goals.
- Position requires frequent travel for work and driving of personal and university vehicles. Traveling internationally is required.

Duties & Responsibilities
Recruitment
- Acts as the main point of contact from interest to enrollment for students within one's assigned territory
- Maintains an in-depth and holistic understanding (through training and continuous research) of the University of Arizona's rankings, academic program offerings, application requirements, policies, and key selling points for all undergraduate and graduate degree programs
- Manage a personal and office email inbox; Respond in a timely manner to incoming student queries
- Maintain an advising appointment calendar and meet regularly with students and families
- Manage a phone line with texting, WhatsApp and other communication methods; Respond in a timely manner to incoming student queries
- Outreach, schedule and prepare virtual presentations for high schools, universities, partners and EducationUSA staff based on the specific presentation request
- Utilize one's cultural competency and communication skills to expertly execute verbal and written communications in a clear, concise manner
- Build a comprehensive virtual and in-person recruitment plan that directly aligns with territory enrollment goals and has strong return on investment
- Prepare an estimated travel budget, including flight, hotel, per diem, event and other anticipated costs for recruitment travel
- Book all in-country travel needs, including flight, hotel, transportation, logistics, material shipment, etc. and maintain receipts for each booking
- Strategically schedule all recruitment activities, plan for sufficient material needs and expertly execute
Admissions
- Review and evaluate undergraduate applications, including transcripts, essays, recommendation letters, extracurriculars and exam scores
- Assess a student's overall character and alignment with institutional values
- Understand and interpret transcripts from all countries and educational systems
- Analyze application materials for authenticity
- Score completed student applications based a predetermined rubric
Data Entry and Management
- Utilize the Slate CRM for student outreach at all stages of the admission funnel; Activities not limited to:
- Call, text, email prospective students as they express interest
- Monitor student progress on their application
- Ensure completion of all student application materials, specifically ensuring proper transcripts, English proficiency exam scores, essay requirements, resume, etc.
- Congratulate each admitted student following their offer of admission
- Support admitted students in their next steps and arrival tasks
- Input and maintain accurate student data
- Record all student interactions
- Utilize the Slate CRM to manage all recruitment activities and complete follow-up reports within the system following each event/activity
- Maintain up-to-date contact infoarmation for High School counselors, university contacts and government staff
Regulatory and Research Requirements
- Research and maintain up-to-date information on secondary school and higher education systems
- Research and maintain up-to-date information on academic calendars, breaks, regional holidays and optimal times to outreach within one's territory
- Annually review institutional and Open Doors data to design and manage an outreach plan tailored to the portfolio of countries, industry demands and student interests
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of the student visa process in order to advise and support admitted international students
- Research and maintain up-to-date information on policy and regulatory changes to the student visa process
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

- Ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of people
- Strong presentation skills
- Basic understanding of US and/or international social media platforms
- Willingness and flexibility to learn new skills in a diverse, collaborative, rapid-paced environment
- Ability to collect and interpret recruitment-related data
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally 4-6 weeks of the year to support recruitment efforts

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional-level experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy; and ability to travel internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of a second language (preference for Spanish)
