Position Information

Position Title	Intramurals Operations Assistant

Job Summary	The student employees are responsible for the direct supervision of intramural sports participants and spectators. They will assist in the enforcement of policy and sport rules; on-site decision making; and conflict resolution. The student staff is responsible to ensure the safety of all players and spectators based on game flow, facilities, and equipment.

Essential Duties

• Validate MWSU ID’s and rosters upon arrival through the Banner system and IMLeagues.
• Educate participants and enforce intramural sports rules and regulations.
• Prepare all necessary paperwork and equipment for efficient, safe, and service oriented competitions.
• Maintain proper paper documentation (eligibility, sportsmanship, results, end of night report).
• Assist in maintaining intramural sports equipment and inventory.
• Resolve participant conflicts and disputes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• MWSU Student
• Degree Seeking
• At least an overall 2.0 GPA
• Enrolled at least part-time (a minimum of 6 hours)
• May need to qualify for Federal Work Study
• Must be able to lift or push a minimum of 45 lbs
• Must be able to assert authority to peers, faculty, staff, and community patrons.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exercise Science, Recreation, or Sports Management majors;
• or a strong background in health, fitness, nutrition, or management.
• Currently CPR/AED certified.

• Dependable and Accountable.
• Be able to assert authority to peers, faculty, staff, and community.
• Good communication skills.
• Positive customer service skills.

Physical Demands

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
