| Job Summary | The student employees are responsible for the direct supervision of intramural sports participants and spectators. They will assist in the enforcement of policy and sport rules; on-site decision making; and conflict resolution. The student staff is responsible to ensure the safety of all players and spectators based on game flow, facilities, and equipment. |
Essential Duties
- Validate MWSU ID’s and rosters upon arrival through the Banner system and IMLeagues.
- Educate participants and enforce intramural sports rules and regulations.
- Prepare all necessary paperwork and equipment for efficient, safe, and service oriented competitions.
- Maintain proper paper documentation (eligibility, sportsmanship, results, end of night report).
- Assist in maintaining intramural sports equipment and inventory.
- Resolve participant conflicts and disputes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- MWSU Student
- Degree Seeking
- At least an overall 2.0 GPA
- Enrolled at least part-time (a minimum of 6 hours)
- May need to qualify for Federal Work Study
- Must be able to lift or push a minimum of 45 lbs
- Must be able to assert authority to peers, faculty, staff, and community patrons.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exercise Science, Recreation, or Sports Management majors;
- or a strong background in health, fitness, nutrition, or management.
- Currently CPR/AED certified.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Dependable and Accountable.
- Be able to assert authority to peers, faculty, staff, and community.
- Good communication skills.
- Positive customer service skills.
Physical Demands
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
