  • Remuneration: Total remuneration range: $111,341 to $120,557 pa (HEW6) (inclusive of $94,084 to $101,872 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
  • Location: Kelvin Grove (hybrid option available)
  • Open to: Current staff members of QUT who have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of the fixed-term appointment. Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Junior Information Security Architect to join Digital Business Solutions, Administrative Division.

The Junior Information Security Architect supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of QUT’s enterprise security architecture. The role contributes to the delivery of secure, scalable, and user-focused IAM capabilities that support the University’s digital ecosystem. The Junior Architect works collaboratively with project teams, other solution architects, and business stakeholders to help ensure IAM systems and services meet security, usability, compliance, and operational objectives.

What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to a degree in an IT related field with subsequent experience in identity access management in a complex environment. 
  2. Demonstrated practical experience working with IAM solutions and technologies within an enterprise IT environment. 
  3.  Familiarity with IAM protocols and technologies such as Entra ID/Azure AD, Shibboleth, SAML, OIDC, OAuth2, LDAP, MFA, or identity governance platforms.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, ISM) and how they relate to IAM solutions.
  5. Demonstrated ability to follow business requirements to support the design and implementation of secure and scalable IAM solutions.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  7. Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing to team goals and while following directions provided by senior staff.
  8. Experience contributing to IT architecture governance, including the development of standards, policies, and reusable patterns is desirable.
