Do you want to further your career through an industrial project with one of the UK’s leading research-intensive universities whilst pursuing a career in industry?

We are seeking an Engineer (or equivalent related field) with experience with cryogenic systems and/or sensor development for a KTP Associate position based on-site at Druck Ltd, Leicester, LE6 0FH.

About the role

As the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate, you will lead the research, design, development, and testing of the world’s first cryogenic pressure sensors intended for flight qualification in liquid hydrogen (LH2) storage and conveyance for aerospace applications. These next-generation sensors will play a critical role in enabling safer, more efficient hydrogen-powered flight and advancing the UK’s net-zero aviation goals.

You will be working within Druck Ltd to embed knowledge through this innovative project, with academic support from the University of Bath.

It is essential that you understand how KTP works with business and the University, and the vital role you will play.

About you

As a KTP Associate you will be the project lead, managing your own workload to ensure outputs align with project expectations, including leading on meetings. You will also acquire new skills in strategic leadership that can help to super-charge your career.

The ideal candidate will have

  • PhD in Mechanical, Electromechanical Engineering, Materials Science or Physics or extensive R&D experience in industry.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software such as Creo or SolidWorks and technical drafting.
  • Experience in experimental methods and data analysis.
  • Experience in Finite Element Analysis software such as Ansys.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, leadership and project management skills

Further information

This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) for a fixed-term period of 36 months, based in Leicester.
