This position ensures the cleanliness of assigned areas by performing various housekeeping tasks and overseeing the work of assigned housekeeping workers.

The Housing department ensures that student-housing facilities are well maintained, clean, and safe for the students of CNU.

Purpose of the Position

This position will ensure the cleanliness of assigned areas by performing various housekeeping tasks. It will also oversee the work of assigned housekeeping workers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position

• Knowledge of cleaning methods and cleaning supplies
• Skilled in the use of housekeeping equipment such as vacuum cleaner, buffers, and scrubbing machine
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to direct work assignments
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively and to maintain positive relations with faculty, staff, and students
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and be on-call on a rotational basis

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required

Education

• High school graduate or equivalent education/experience that equates to a high school diploma
• Valid driver’s license

Experience

• Experience overseeing the work of others
• Experience in cleaning methods and cleaning supplies
• Experience using a vacuum cleaner, buffer, and scrubbing machine

Additional Considerations

• Prior hotel, higher education, or similar housekeeping experience

Salary Information

Starting at $32,672, commensurate with education and experience.

Conditions of Employment

• This is a classified position. New and returning classified employees are required to complete a 12-month probationary period.
• Selected candidate must attend a 2-day New Employee Orientation Program.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and be on-call on a rotational basis.
