Lead Programmer Analyst

The Lead Programmer Analyst position will work within the Administrative Services Unit of the Buffalo Educational Opportunity Center (BEOC) and serves as liaison between users, the public, and various subsystems and technical units, serving in a leadership function for the Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) IT Help Desk operations. This position reports to the Director of Administrative Services or designee as assigned.

In this position, you will: Provide a critical role in on-site technology management, assist students at workstations, faculty/staff in classrooms and offices, and support A/V and technology for the BEOC Conference Center and Atrium. Perform an active role in the EOC IT help desk operations, dealing directly with students, faculty, staff, and visitors to address technical issues. Support technology, audio/visual, and network operations, acting as a liaison with UB IT, SUNY Central Administration-University Center for Academic and Workforce Development (UCAWD), various UB departments, other EOCs, and partnering agencies. Maintain service to the BEOC network servers and provide troubleshooting for operating system problems. Lead the operation and management of software such as Formstack, ScreenCloud, Banner, Onguard, and Milestone. Develop and implement a comprehensive annual Technology Plan and Financial Plan/Budget. Monitor and report network performance issues. Troubleshoot and resolve application and hardware problems. Establish and maintain working relationships for software installations like Microsoft Office and antivirus. Image and clone computers. Communicate regarding phone, network, and system-wide upgrades. Serve in a leadership capacity for BEOC website maintenance. Create, install, manage, and program database solutions including MySQL and MSSQL. Maintain BEOC computer labs and kiosks. Provide planning, communication, and scheduling for technological resources. Develop and support technology-based systems for academic and administrative functions. Supervise, coordinate, and schedule student assistants.
