Job Description

The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is currently hiring for a full-time Lead Retail Associate in our Campus Dining department. The UOES Division oversees the University's event management, hospitality, and customer service functions, while also supporting student life, academic initiatives, research activities, and annual milestone celebrations.

The Lead Retail Associate at Starbucks provides the Notre Dame community and guests with the very best in foods and services. This person will make all guests feel welcome by providing a warm, friendly atmosphere and being responsive to the changing needs and desires of our customers.

Essential duties include:

• Produce food and beverage items
• Responsible for proper use of equipment
• Conform with HAACP regulations on a daily basis
• Assign tasks to retail associates and cooks
• Check performance ensuring customer satisfaction through quality service
• Ensure sanitation and safety requirements are met
• Train retail associates on tasks necessary for the position
• Recommend service enhancements and ensuring all brand standards are met
• Set up and clean up of small operations
• Responsible for ordering and inventory control
• Work directly with the management team to insure COGS are at or below set targets
• Certified or actively pursuing brand certification in all units
• Must pass Serv-safe and Aller Train examinations and have the ability to run a shift without a manager present

Qualifications

• 1-2 years retail, food or leadership experience
• Must be available to work nights
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours at a time).
• Ability to move, lift and handle equipment, supplies and other objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to position self to move items weighing up to 25 pounds from floor to shelves and cabinets above and below counter height
