Lecturer 1 (DPD Director)
Job Description
This position will be the Director of Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD), teach undergraduate level courses in dietetics including Medical Nutrition Therapy, Nutrition Counseling, and Food Service Management that support the Human Nutrition and Food program. This is a full-time 9 month appointment that will have an additional 3 month summer appointment for administrative responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate level courses in Dietetics including Medical Nutrition Therapy, Nutrition Counseling, and Food Service Management that support the Human Nutrition and Food program.
- Serve as Director of Undergraduate Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD).
- Maintain and manage student records, including student advising plans and verification statements.
- Coordinate student field placement planning and evaluation.
- Facilitate processes for continuous program evaluation and student learning outcomes assessment.
- Maintain program accreditation, including timely submission of fees, reports and requests for major program changes.
- Timely submission of required documentation supporting the graduate's eligibility for a Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) credentialing exam.
Required Education and Experience:
- M.S. in Nutritional Sciences or Clinical Nutrition
- Demonstrate proficiency in ability to coordinate a DPD program
- 1 to 2 years of undergraduate teaching experience
Required Licensure and or Certification:
- Current licensure or eligible for licensure as a Registered Dietitian (RD) in the State of Texas.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
