About the Program:
The Doctorate in Educational Leadership for Equity and Justice (DELEJ) at CSUCI prepares scholar-practitioners across P-20 settings to lead systemic transformation in education. The program emphasizes equity, justice, critical policy analysis, applied research, and leadership practice grounded in community engagement.
About the Position:
The School of Education at California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) invites applications for lecturer positions in Educational Leadership to teach in the Doctorate in Educational Leadership for Equity and Justice (DELEJ) program. Appointments from this pool are for part-time, temporary teaching assignments and are made on a semester-by-semester basis depending on program needs. Assignments may include teaching doctoral-level courses and serving on dissertation committees.
Minimum Degree Requirements:
A terminal degree (Ed.D., Ph.D., or equivalent) in Education, Educational Leadership, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience teaching courses in educational leadership, applied research, and/or other content areas relevant to the Ed.D. program.
- A record of teaching effectiveness at the graduate level.
- Applicants should demonstrate the ability to effectively engage with a broad student population and provide mentorship that supports student academic success.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching online courses, particularly asynchronous formats.
- Familiarity with doctoral-level instruction and scholar-practitioner models.
- Experience chairing or serving on doctoral dissertation committees.
Responsibilities:
- To teach assigned classes and carry out related duties, such as holding office hours, grading, and planning lessons.
- Teach one or more doctoral courses in the Ed.D. program (subject to enrollment and scheduling needs).
- Provide high-quality instruction using inclusive, equity-centered pedagogy.
- Engage in curriculum development, course updates, or assessment as needed.
- Engage in high-quality asynchronous online teaching
- Support the academic progress and professional growth of Ed.D. students.
- Attend required faculty meetings or program orientations (as applicable).

Compensation:
California State University Lecturer Salary (Academic Year) Schedules (anticipated hiring ranges):
Placement into a range is based on qualifications and experience. Initial assignments are typically at the bottom third of the salary range. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.
