Location: Statesboro Campus, 1332 Southern Drive, Statesboro, GA 30458.

Department Information: The Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology provides a comprehensive examination of justice, crime, and victimization. It offers Bachelor of Science (BS) degrees, a minor, Master of Science (MS) programs, and a Graduate Certificate in Cybercrime.

Job Summary: Reporting to the Department Chair, the Lecturer position requires teaching courses, providing service to the department, college, and university, and engaging in student success and professional development initiatives. This is an academic (10 month), non-tenure-track appointment.

Required Qualifications: Earned J.D., master's, or doctoral degree in criminal justice, criminology, or a closely related field, with at least 18 graduate semester hours in criminal justice or criminology, by August 1, 2026. Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives and commitment to best practices in instruction, pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design.

Preferred Qualifications: Evidence of successful college/university level teaching experience. Ability to teach courses including Introduction to Criminal Justice, Professional Development in Criminal Justice and Criminology, and others. Interest in developing special topics or graduate-level courses.

Proposed Salary: Commensurate with experience. This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Abilities include engaging customer service and proficiency with computers. Knowledge includes adhering to University policies. Skills include effective communication, organizational, and human relations skills.
