Brief Summary of Work for this Position:
The Department of Art & Art History at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a position as a nine-month non-tenure-track lecturer in 3D foundations, beginning in August 2026.
This is a one-year appointment that is renewable annually, contingent upon satisfactory performance, departmental needs, and the availability of funding. The university provides opportunities for promotion to higher non-tenure track ranks for eligible instructors.
The position requires an active teaching agenda and carries a 4-4 teaching load. The candidate will primarily teach 3D foundations, with secondary teaching in other foundation areas. The position includes possible opportunity for additional summer school teaching. Instructors must be available to teach on-campus courses in Wilmington.
Responsibilities include teaching, mentoring students, and providing service to the department, college, and university.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art, with a concentration in Sculpture at time of application.
- Prior experience teaching 3D foundations at the undergraduate level
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- 3 years teaching experience at the undergraduate level after graduate school

- Demo Reel - If items in the Student Artwork or Personal Artwork PDFs have a movement component (video, moving images, installation or performance), a short mp4 file, 2 minutes max, can be uploaded. The mp4 file is supplemental to the Student Artwork and Personal Artwork PDFs and should not show additional artwork.
Please note that a minimum of three references are required for all applications.
