Position description
The Computer Science and Engineering department in the School of Engineering anticipates hiring full and/or part-time lecturer positions to teach the following courses for Academic Year 2025-2026:
- CSE 005: Intro Computer Applications
- CSE 015: Discrete Mathematics
- CSE 019: Introduction to Computing
- CSE 022: Intro to Programming
- CSE 024: Advanced Programming
- CSE 030: Data Structures
- CSE 031: Computer Organization and Assembly Language
- CSE 100: Algorithm Design and Analysis
- CSE 107: Introduction to Digital Image Processing
- CSE 108: Full Stack Web Development
- CSE 111: Database Systems
- CSE 120: Software Engineering
- CSE 160: Computer Networks
- CSE 168: Distributed Software Systems
- CSE 176: Introduction to Machine Learning
- CSE 180: Introduction to Robotics
- CSE 185: Introduction to Computer Vision
- Other courses as needed

In addition to teaching the course(s), the instructor is responsible for creating a syllabus, holding weekly office hours (minimum 2 hours/week), and grading examinations and/or papers. The instructor may also be required to hold discussion sections or supervise a graduate student teaching assistant or reader.
This is a limited-term appointment which falls under the purview of the agreement for the Lecturers Unit between University of California and the American Federation of Teachers. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and appropriate collective bargaining agreement. Qualifications
Basic qualifications
Advanced degree in a relevant area or related field and experience teaching at the college or university level are required. Must be able to provide a record of excellence in teaching that demonstrates broad experience working with students of different abilities, ethnic backgrounds, and educational attainment.
